Does anyone like this deal?

I hate the tax cut deal because along with cutting taxes it adds new spending too. Liberals hate it because along with new spending it cuts taxes. I was almost starting to like it just because they didn’t but that is because I never realized this was an option:

Obama is telling members of Congress that failure to pass the tax-cut legislation could result in the end of his presidency, Rep. Peter DeFazio (Ore.) said. “The White House is putting on tremendous pressure, making phone calls, the president is making phone calls saying this is the end of his presidency if he doesn’t get this bad deal,” he told CNN’s Eliot Spitzer.

I will happily give up my rich guy tax break if it means the end of the Obama presidency. It would be a bargain. Except that unlike parliamentary governments that hold elections when the government collapses, ours follows the Peter principal where the guy who couldn’t beat the President in a primary gets to have a go. You must admit that President Biden would be gafftasticly entertaining.

Boy this sounds familar. I wonder if House Democrats realize that Obama looks at them as his bitches:

President Barack Obama swiftly urged the House to pass the $858 billion bill without changes, a slap at Democratic liberals eager to toughen a part of the measure that permits up to $10 million to pass to heirs estate tax-free.
